John is the President of Belt Power LLC, a distributor and fabricator of industrial conveyor components and belting based in Smyrna, GA with locations in Charlotte, NC and Conroe, TX. He began his career in Atlanta, GA in 1986 working for a local belting distributor/fabricator. In 1989, he transferred to Charlotte, NC where he managed a branch office for a multi-national conveyor belting distributor/fabricator for 13 years. For the next 3 years he held the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a conveyor belt manufacturing firm based in Hull, UK. In 2004, John relocated back to the Atlanta area with Belt Power, leading as President since 2007. John has served many years in NIBA, The Belting Association, serving on the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee. John graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management in 1985 and is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. John enjoys travel with his wife and 2 boys. Travis graduated from Bay City High School- Bay City, TX (1990-1994), has a BS in Speech Communication/ Human Relations and a Minor in Psychology from Texas Christian University- Fort Worth, TX, (1994-1998). He was a Football Letterman at Texas Christian University (1994-1997). Travis started at Belt Power in October 2001 as a Territory Manager and became a Sales Manager in January 2003. In January 2005 Travis became the VP of Sales and in August 2007 he was promoted to the Executive VP. In 2010 he was given the opportunity to open the Texas location and currently works out of the offices in Conroe, TX. Currently Travis manages the outside sales team (Territory Managers) and provides technical product support to all levels of sales and operations throughout Belt Power. In addition, he has a focus on vendor relations and product sourcing and also manages growth markets for Belt Power. Travis also handles all corporate level sales. Travis enjoys spending time with his wife Cheryl and their sons, Trent and Luke. He is very involved with his church, Stonebridge Church in Magnolia, TX. In February of 2012, Alex joined Belt Power as their Operations Manager for their Houston, TX location. From November 1997 through November 2011, Alex worked at Mol Belting Systems. His duties there included conveyor belt fabrication, inside sales manager and production manager. Alex’s education background is of business management at Grand Rapids Community College. Personally, Alex is married to his wife Kenia. His interests include football, basketball and just about any sport he can play or talk about. Scott is a graduate of North Cobb High School (1982) and Kennesaw State University (1992). He is the Operations Manager at Belt Power’s Smyrna location where his duties include managing the Fabrication, Service, and Inside Sales departments of the branch. Scott’s role also includes various inventory and purchasing functions. He began his belting career in 1996 with a local distributor/fabricator, where he held numerous positions there including Sales Management, Purchasing and Operations. Scott and his wife Laura have two children, Eric and Rachel. He is very active in his church and enjoys singing in the choir and working with the youth music and Sunday school programs. Robert is a graduate of Lincolnton High School (1981) and Lenoir-Rhyne College (1985) - with a degree in Business Administration. His past work experience includes: Purchasing Agent – Dixie Yarns 1985-90, Product Manager at - Forbo Movement Systems 1990-2008. Robert came on board with Belt Power in 2008 and is currently the Branch Manager/Operations Manager at our Charlotte, NC facility. He is primarily responsible for fabrication and customer service performed at this location. Robert married his wife, Brenda, in October 1990. Their daughter, Keaton Danae, was born in 1993. Keaton gave birth to their granddaughter, Sophie Maleigh on March 3, 2011. Robert gave his life to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ in January of 1998 and serves Him at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church-North. Doug Winnette is the controller of Belt Power. He began his career in accounting as an auditor with Grant Thornton. Several years later, he left public accounting to join the accounting function of Gold Kist, a large agribusiness and poultry integrator. Doug held numerous positions with Gold Kist including manager of financial analysis, project manager, systems development manager, division accounting manager of aquaculture, pet food and pork, and live operations accounting manager. When Gold Kist merged with Pilgrim’s Pride, Doug became the accounting manager for the eastern US distribution centers. In 2009, he joined Belt Power as the controller. Doug graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Accounting and is also a C.P.A. He enjoys gardening, hiking and is an assistant scoutmaster with a local Boy Scout troop. James grew up in Nashville, TN and graduated from Goodpasture Christian School. After graduating high school, he went to Itawamba Community college for two years and transferred to the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss, James majored in Business Management. After college, he moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in NASCAR. He worked for a marketing company in NASCAR for two years as an account manager for GE Silicone and Steak-Ums Burgers. After working in motorsports, James began working for Belt Power in December 2009. He started off in the shop learning the belting industry from the ground up. Ned joined Belt Power in 1997. He specializes in providing solutions to Plant Managers and Maintenance to increase line efficiency through the use of proper belt and conveyor specifications. Ned’s expertise in this area help to increase yields for our clients. John is a graduate of Georgia State University and previously worked in the education division of Houghton Mifflin Company before joining Belt Power. John joined the Belt Power team in 1999. His tenure began as a junior assistant inside sales member on a two-person team and he is currently a Senior Inside Salesman on a ten person team. Tim attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has over 15 years in industrial sales. He is currently a Customer Service Representative of Inside Sales here at Belt Power. Tim and his lovely wife Korin have 2 sons, Cam and Jarrett, and a chocolate lab named Shelby. His family loves the outdoors and enjoys snowboarding, skiing, the beach, hunting and fishing. Mary worked 29 years for Rexnord Power Transmission Div. as Inside Sales Rep, Inventory Control, Inside Sales Supervisor. When their Atlanta office closed in 2007, she came to work for Belt Power. During the time Mary has been with Belt Power, She has enjoyed the challenge of learning the belting business and being part of a growing company. Eric has an AS in Business Management from Axia College and has over 10 years experience in the conveyor belting industry. He enjoys a good In-N-Out Burger and going to the movies with his family. Jeff graduated Auburn University with a BS in Marketing in 1987. He then proceeded to work in the insurance field for 16 years as both a claims adjuster and a sales agent, then shifted occupations to industrial sales in 2005. In September 2007 Jeff joined the Belt Power team. Jeff’s ability to solve problems and work with many different personalities makes him an invaluable part of our staff. Jeff is married to his high school sweetheart, Bevin, and they have a son, Andrew, and a daughter, Caroline. Steve joined Belt Power in 2002 and has been our Atlanta Territory Manager since 2007. He has been able to help create stability and growth in the Atlanta market during some of our most difficult economic times. Prior to joining the Belt Power team he worked 5 years with another belt distributor in the Southeast. Steve has spent his entire career making sure the customer has what they need. His product knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile for the customer makes him a valuable resource for any client. When not taking care of the customer, Steve enjoys softball, golfing, and hunting. Steve earned his degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in 1997. While at KSU, Steve played baseball with current Operations Manager Jason Jones. Steve was a part of two National Championship teams while in college. Phillip is the Product Manager for Industrial and Fluid Sealing Products. Shawn joined the Belt Power team in 2012. He has been in sales for the last 12 years, the last 6 has been in the industrial field. Shawn has had a lot of experience in the food industry with different applications and problem solving. He has been able to reduce down time and showed cost savings to clients. Barry joined Belt Power in 1996. Barry’s focus is on problem solving and discovering more efficient ways to help our clients run their production operations. Prior to working for Belt Power, Barry was a Service Engineer with Pedco for 8 years installing and repairing sizing applications in chicken, live catfish, beef, lobsters tails (Bahamas), quails… etc. Barry and his wife Donna have 2 boys, Carson and Grayson.
