Commercial Conveyor Belt Safety
Industrial and Commercial conveyor belts are made up of two or more pulleys that move items to desired location. Commonly, electric motors are the core power source at which these belts operate. Conveyer belts are used in many types of settings, anything from industrial to commercial work. It is important while overseeing and operating conveyor belts to wear tighter fitting clothes and potentially, eye protection.
One part of the system is the belt. The belt is a flat surface, left with enough slack to rotate along the set of wheels placed at each end of the conveyor.
In the past, industrial and commercial conveyor belts were powered manually by wood wheels and belts made from leather, canvas or rubber. Modern day, conveyor belts run using electricity and functioning parts are now made of plastic, synthetic fiber, and metal.
Industrial Conveyor Belt Safety
Speed is an important part of the success in the industrial and commercial use of a conveyor belt. Finding a balance between safety and maximum efficiency goes a long way in protecting your product and predicting success. Employee training to ensure their safety while working near these belts also works towards maximum efficiency. Therefore speed should be carefully considered.
